Smitty’s Handcrafted Vodka: A Legacy in a Bottle

Smitty’s Handcrafted Vodka is more than a drink. As its label says, it’s a legacy in a bottle. In fact, Chris Smith and Desorae Giles-Smith of Smitty’s Wings commissioned it. They created it as a tribute to the heart and soul of Sistrunk Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. This vodka carries the pride of a neighborhood on every label. It carries that pride right down to the collage of community faces spelling out SISTRUNK across the back of the bottle.

The recipe standard is written plainly on the bottle: Smitty’s Vodka must use 100% natural limestone spring water and 100% Florida-grown grains. Also, the result is a vodka with a silky-smooth texture and just a whisper of wheat. It’s clean, bold, and refined, just like the people of Sistrunk. That soft grain character separates a true handcrafted vodka from the mass-produced kind. Instead of stripping the spirit down to nothing, it keeps a gentle signature of the Florida fields it came from.

Crafted by Timber Creek, Inspired by Sistrunk

Smitty’s created this vodka, and Timber Creek Distilling in Crestview, Florida, distills and bottles it. This grain-to-glass craft distillery in the Florida Panhandle makes its spirits from raw grain on site. As a result, limestone-filtered spring water lends natural smoothness, Florida grain lends character, and careful small-batch distillation ties it together. Pour it ice-cold and neat, build it into a crisp martini, or mix it long. However you serve it, you’re pouring a toast to the block that inspired it.
