VINTAGE NOTES
2022 was an interesting vintage. We had an extremely dry winter and spring season. Around May after bud break, we had some unseasonably cool weather resulting in frost and an unusual hailstorm that really affected our crop and overall yield. The growing season was very warm which led to a record early start to the harvest. We were able to successfully maneuver the weather setbacks, and overall, quality and flavors were excellent due to the small yields. Each of the wines is very concentrated and has a lot of depth. These wines are drinking beautifully.

WINEMAKING NOTES
Our Chardonnay comes from several blocks on our estate vineyards. Each is picked and aged separately. We hand harvest each of our blocks at the coldest part of the night. We bring the grapes to the winery and whole cluster press them to a mix of new and used French oak barrels. The barrels ferment with native yeast from the skins of the grapes. After fermentation, the barrels are topped up and malolactic fermentation occurs naturally. The wines stay on their primary lees until 3 weeks before bottlling where they are racked to a stainless steel tank. We allow the wine to settle for a few weeks before racking one more time. The wine then goes to bottle unfined and unfiltered.

TASTING NOTES
This is another stunning vintage of our estate Chardonnay. The aromas are of white peach, apricot notes, lemon oil, blanched almonds, and jasmine blossoms. The palate is filled with stone fruit and floral notes up front and then has great texture that fills the palate. The texture continues onto the palate but is finished with balanced acidity, leaving you wanting another sip!
