Winemaker Notes
2021 was a beautiful yet challenging vintage. With very low rainfall, we entered into the growing season about 2 weeks earlier than normal. Summer temperatures were warm but consistent. Our crop size was very low but this led to high quality and concentration which is expressed in this vintage.

Production Notes
Our 2021 Petite Sirah was picked starting at 2:00 am and was brought to the winery to be hand sorted and destemmed but left whole berry. After a 4 day cold soak to extract maximum color and flavor from the skins, the must fermented for a full 14 days and was then drained and put to a mix of new and used French oak barrels for 21 months. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Tasting Notes
Inky black/purple in color. The aromas are of roasted black plum, black cherry, brambly boysenberry, crushed violets, white pepper and a hint of baking spices. The palate is rich and lush with deep black and red fruit tones on the front palate and dusty, chewy but still balanced tannins on the mid-palate to the finish. This is a beautiful wine that will age for quite a long time.
