Vintage Notes
In 2023 our Northern Russian River AVA vineyards received ample rainfall in early summer, ensuring excellent vine health. While other regions experienced extreme heat, our temperatures remained mild, resulting in a delayed but abundant harvest. Fortunately, warm weather arrived just in time for picking, allowing the grapes to develop exceptional flavor and complexity. This extended hang time has produced a truly remarkable vintage that we’re eager for you to experience.
Production Notes
This wine was picked in late September of a cooler vintage. We hand harvested at the coldest part of the night. We brought the grapes into the winery and destemmed the grapes and put them into bins with layers of dry ice and cold soaked the juice on the skins for 72 hours. After 72 hours, we pressed the juice off the skins directly to barrel. We fermented with native yeast and put the wine fully through malolactic fermentation. The wine remained on primary lees in 25% new French oak and 75% used French oak barrels for 10 months before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Tasting Notes
Pale yellow with a slight green hue, this spectacular wine has aromas of pie crust, gooseberry, passion fruit, jasmine, kiwi, and rangpur lime. The complex palate has bright citrus notes, more tropical notes, and a beautiful round texture. The finish has great acidity and lingering tropical notes.
